LULAC honors UCA scholars
The University of Central Arkansas recently announced the recipients of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) 2024-25 scholarships. Seven students were awarded $8,250 by LULAC at a recent celebration on the campus. Students were joined by representatives from LULAC, Ambassador Carlos Giralt Cabrales from the Mexican Consulate and their families, UCA staff and faculty. "This is the third year we were able to host the UCA LULAC Dinner on campus. We thoroughly enjoy celebrating our UCA LULAC scholars alongside their families and friends. It is an honor to work with students who give back to their community while pursuing their goals," said Maria Negrete Padron, associate director of the Office of Student Advocacy and Community. LULAC is the nation's oldest and largest Latino civil rights organization and has a long-standing tradition of promoting education within the Hispanic community.
